Princess Kaguya

A bamboo cutter found, inside a glowing stalk, a tiny and beautiful girl. He and his wife raised her with all their love: she was Princess Kaguya.

Kaguya grew into a kind, cheerful young woman who lit up the house with her smile. Her parents were happy by her side.

Kaguya enjoyed simple things: flowers, the full moon, songs and walks through the countryside.

But Kaguya came from the Moon, and one day she had to return to her home in the sky. Before leaving, she hugged her parents and thanked them for so much love.

Every full-moon night, her parents looked up at the sky and smiled, for they knew Kaguya still loved them from up there.
