Little Red Riding Hood

Traditional tale

🔊 Device voice

Once upon a time there was a girl so sweet that she always wore a little red hood, and so everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood.

One morning, her mother asked her to take a basket of bread and honey to her granny, who lived in a cottage on the other side of the forest. «Don't dawdle and don't stray from the path», she said.

Along the trail, Little Red Riding Hood met a cunning wolf. «Where are you off to so early?», he asked in a kind voice. Trusting, the girl told him she was going to her granny's house.

The clever wolf ran along a shortcut and arrived first. When Little Red Riding Hood got there, something seemed odd: «Granny, what big eyes you have». «All the better to see you with», answered a gruff voice.

Just then a woodcutter was passing by and heard the commotion. He came into the house, scared the wolf and chased it far away forever. From behind the door appeared granny, safe and sound.

Little Red Riding Hood hugged her granny and promised that, next time, she wouldn't linger with strangers along the way.

…and they all lived happily ever after. 🌙
