Cinderella

There lived a kind and hard-working young woman whose stepsisters made her clean the house from morning to night. As she often sat by the ashes of the fireplace, they called her Cinderella.

One day, the palace announced a grand ball. The stepsisters dressed in their finest, but Cinderella wasn't allowed to go. Alone and sad, she began to cry.

Suddenly her fairy godmother appeared. With a touch of her wand, she turned a pumpkin into a carriage and Cinderella's rags into a beautiful gown, with little glass slippers. «But remember: the magic ends at midnight», she warned.

At the ball, the prince didn't want to dance with anyone else. Cinderella was so happy she almost forgot the time… As the clock struck twelve, she ran off and, without realizing, lost a slipper on the stairs.

The prince travelled all over the kingdom looking for the owner of the glass slipper. When he reached Cinderella's house, the little slipper fit her foot perfectly.

And so, for her kindness and her good heart, Cinderella and the prince lived happily ever after.
